I was the chaplain onboard HMCS Preserver the RCN ship first on the scene after the crash. Our ship remained there many weeks collecting remains, and myself the medical assistant and RCMP were daily in one of the ships massive fridges that was set up separately to receive the remains. Now ironicaly i find myself having retired as the rector of the parish which inclues St. Johns church Peggys Cove which has within it the SwissAir 1-11 memorial and some artifacts.
