ALITALIA IFEN PROJECT

In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems (without gambling features) were installed on 4 – Alitalia MD-11 airplanes, commencing in July 1995. These were later removed due to poor performance and reliability.

IFT relied on outside parties for certification and installation of the IFE systems:

1. Martin Aviation (for engineering design, and aircraft integration)
2. Elsinore Aerospace Services (for certification of the IFEN systems)
3. Altialia Airlines(for installations at Fuimicino Airport in Rome Italy)
4. FAA (for oversight of the project, and of Martin Aviation/Elsinore Aerospace Services)

SWISSAIR IFEN PROJECT


Following the Alitalia project, an upgraded entertainment system, including gaming features, called the In-Flight Entertainment Network IFEN), was installed on 15 – MD-11's & 3 - 747's.

IFT relied on the following outside parties for certification and installation of the IFENs:

1. Hollingsead International (for engineering design, aircraft integration, & installations)
2. Santa Barbara Aerospace (for certification of the IFEN systems)
