Swissair memorial worn - NDP

The grounds around the memorial to Swissair Flight 111 are suffering from neglect, NDP transportation and public works critic Bill Estabrooks said Tuesday.

Pathway rocks are falling into ditches and the walkway to the three-year-old monument is so worn drainage pipes are poking up through the gravel, Estabrooks said.

He said a committee of provincial deputy ministers is supposed to oversee the site, at the Whalesback in Indian Harbour.
