Air Sunshine Crash- A terrible tragedy
Families of Air Sunshine crash victims sue for negligence

A commuter plane crash in the Bahamas last month could have been avoided if Air Sunshine had done a better job maintaining its aircraft, and two deaths might have been prevented if the carrier had prepared its pilot and passengers for an ocean landing, relatives of victims say in a federal lawsuit filed this week.

The families of a 4-year-old girl and a 33-year-old mother who died after a Cessna flying from Fort Lauderdale to Abaco lost an engine and landed in the Atlantic Ocean on July 13 accuse the carrier of negligence and not taking care of its aircraft. The suit also says pilot Hassan Moslemi should have been able to fly the plane safely even after the engine failed over the ocean about six miles off the coast of Abaco.
