Aviation resignation The director of the Federal Office for Civil Aviation, Andr� Auer, is to resign from his post with immediate effect. The Swiss transport ministry said in a statement that Auer�s resignation was in the �best interest� of the office. Auer has come under mounting pressure after he announced plans last week to restrict the types of planes allowed to fly to the regional airport of Lugano, citing safety concerns about the approach to the runway.
