One of the traditional observations in the industry deals with the pilot perplexed by the airplane's computer, as in the phrase, "Why is it doing this?" Wrong question, said a pilot at the recent annual meeting in Norway of the International Federation of Air Line Pilots Associations (IFALPA). Instead, he suggested, ask, "What is the last thing I asked it to do?"
