Just want to comment on this. Others may not agree, but I think generally speaking for reasons I think are pretty obvious, FAA people (with high positions in particular) should not be able to join aviation related private industry jobs. JMHO. I'm thinking of Tom McSweeny also (and the list goes on) who when asked to leave the FAA (at least that's what at least one article said at that time)joined boeing.
