Delta Flight Lands After Pilots Smell Smoke 12 March 2003 GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A Delta Air Lines flight heading for Atlanta made an unscheduled landing here after pilots reported smoke and an odor in the cockpit. The Boeing 757 jet heading from Hartford, Conn., with 174 people aboard, landed safely Wednesday morning at Piedmont Triad International Airport. The plane taxied to the gate and unloaded its passengers, Delta spokeswoman Debby Estes said. There were no injuries. Delta sent an airplane to Greensboro on Wednesday afternoon to pick up the passengers and take them to Atlanta. Maintenance crews examined the jet Wednesday, trying to determine what happened, Estes said.

Thanks for the information Christopher. Hopefully there will be a follow up on this one as to what the cause of the smoke was.
