The Swiss Federal Archives have recently acquired official documents from Swiss government bodies pertaining to the Swissair 111 investigation, on the Swiss side. These documents are mostly still under the statutory closure period (but this can lifted on appeal) These include:

The top dossier pertains to a Swiss criminal investigation (involuntary homicide/manslaughter) launched by Swiss Federal Prosecutors in 1998 innrelation to the crash.

The other dossiers relate to correspondence between Swiss and Canadian investigators and between Swiss investigators at the BFU and other entities.
