Air safety and the TSB

Did you know that Canada's Transportation Safety Board investigates about
800 air traffic incidents each year - about a quarter of which involves
collisions or the risk of collision?

Global National asks the question: does the public have a right to know
about serious airline incidents that occur in the skies?

We have details of a recent air incident where a pilot lost control of a
passenger plane, which plummeted over 4,000 feet in just 41-seconds. The
Transportation Safety Board is now investigating this particular incident,
but the final report will not be released for months; meanwhile, passengers
continue to fly on the airline without even realizing that the airline they
are flying on is under investigation. Should there be a full disclosure of
TSB investigations made available to all Canadians before they fly?

Thanks CD, that is very interesting. I certainly believe that people do have a right to know when an airline is being investigated so that they can make wise choices about who they choose to fly with.
