Heathrow Terminal Evacuated Because of Suspicious Bag Friday, February 14, 2003 LONDON Police evacuated a Heathrow airport terminal Friday after finding a suspicious bag during an intensified security operation at Europe's busiest airport. Wednesday, a portion of London Gatwick Airport was closed after a grenade was found in the luggage of a passenger arriving from Colombia. Police discovered the bag in Terminal 2 at around 11:20 a.m. and were still investigating it about an hour later, airport spokeswoman Lisa Kavanagh said. The terminal, which mostly serves European destinations, was evacuated. No further details were immediately available. Earlier Friday, police said they had arrested four terror suspects near Heathrow, bringing the total number of people detained during Britain's four-day security operation to seven. http://foxnews.com/story/0,2933,78591,00.html | |||
