Plane with 30 aboard crashed into sea off Gabon. AP LIBREVILLE, Gabon - A small commercial airplane crashed into the Atlantic off the West African nation of Gabon on Tuesday, company officials said. Authorities rescued 10 people on board and were searching for 20 others. The craft was an HS-748 two-engine propeller plane flown by Gabon Express, a private Gabon company, heading from the capital, Libreville, to the southern city of Franceville. An official with the company said the plane was carrying 26 passengers and four crew members. The cause of the crash was not immediately known. Ten were rescued and search operations were under way for the others, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. At least two Lebanese were on board, and the passenger roster indicated several other foreign passengers, the official said. It was not known who was among the rescued. It was not immediately clear how far offshore the crash occurred. | |||
