Smoke in the Cockpit in La Guardia?
Does anyone have information regarding this? Mark said he heard that this was an American Airlines jet but other than that we have no information. Any help would be appreciated.

An American Airlines jet made an emergency landing after it took off from La Guardia Airport and smoke was detected in its cockpit, a Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman said.

American Airlines Flight 1567 departed La Guardia for Miami at 9:20 a.m. with 135 people on board, spokeswoman Holly Baker said.

Pilots noticed smoke in the cockpit and diverted the plane, an MD-80, to make an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport. The smoke dissipated before the 9:37 a.m. landing, Baker said.

No passengers or crew were injured, she said.
